Our mission is simple. We want to promote the use of audio and video educational material for personal and professional development. What does this mean? It means that we want to help you to see how you can turn 'dead time' (time spent commuting, exercising, doing chores, etc.) into 'learning time.'

This podcast both examines and inspires a certain approach towards life that is based both on personal philosophies and on, more importantly, the writings of people such as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. This is a biweekly five to ten minute series referencing literature, life, and nature. The host, while working in technology for a major corporation, holds a Master's in English Literature and is a true Romantic.

Unintended Detours is a show about the distances we travel in life: literal or metaphorical, enthusiastically or against our will. Stories of obstacles and diversions--the places we long to get to and where we actually end up.

The Partially Examined Life is a philosophy podcast by some guys who were at one point set on doing philosophy for a living but then thought better of it. Each episode, we pick a short text and chat about it with some balance between insight and flippancy. You don't have to know any philosophy, or even to have read the text we're talking about to (mostly) follow and (hopefully) enjoy the discussion. For links to the texts we discuss and other info, check out www.partiallyexaminedlife.com.
The Partially Examined Life
In a world where gut feelings are given more authority than facts, where the average person is permitted to drive 2 tons of steel death, and ‘God did it’ is an acceptable answer to why something happened, your life may just depend on listening to this podcast.
The LogicallyCritical podcast is intended to encourage critical thinking in everyday situations without the hassle of checking facts at the library. Rather than quote historical research or bore you with statistics about how many dentists suggest what cigarette to their patients, this will use information that we can all reasonably agree on, and will show by example how to more-fully explore any given issue be it traffic, religion, or how to lure a weasel into a cardboard box.
The podcast is no longer being actively produced (10/28/07), but the episodes are still available.

Word of Life Church is a large church led by Pastor Brian and Peri Zahnd in Saint Joseph, Missouri, about 30 minutes North of Kansas City. We are a non-denominational Christian church, which simply means that we are governed by our own elders, not by an outside organization. About 4,000 people worship at Word of Life each weekend.
Brian Zahnd is the lead pastor of Word of Life Church in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He founded the church in 1981 with his wife, Peri, and is guided in leading the congregation by these five signpost words: Cross, Mystery, Eclectic, Community, and Restoration. Brian travels extensively ministering in churches and conferences across America and internationally. Brian is the author of two books, What To Do On The Worst Day Of Your Life and Unconditional? The Call Of Jesus To Radical Forgiveness. When not pastoring or writing, Brian spends his time exploring the mountains and Bob Dylan deep tracks.
