This podcast is intended to help the AP Euro students at Bozeman High School. The podcast is based off the information found in the following textbooks: McKay "A History of Western Society" Merriman "A History of Modern Europe: From the Renaissance to the Present" and Palmer "A History of the Modern World". In addition to these books Steve Mercado's class notes have been an invaluable source in creating the lecture outlines and can be purchased at historysage.com. Finally I would like to thank Roger Stip and Todd Beach for general inspiration and enrichment.

Community Innovation Awards Luncheon
Monday, April 12, 2010 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. University Center Club, FSU Doak Campbell Stadium, Building B Tallahassee, Florida
Beginning in 2010, the United Way of Florida and The Lawton Chiles Foundation are recognizing Florida communities that have demonstrated excellence in collaborations that benefit children and strengthen families. The Community Innovation Awards will be presented to four of these Florida communities at a luncheon held in their honor on Monday, April 12th at 11:30 a.m. The Winners are Healthy Jacksonville, a Childhood Obesity Prevention Collaboration; the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital Teen Xpress Collaboration in Orange County; Quality Counts, Palm Beach County’s Quality Rating Improvement System; and The Kinship Service Network of Pinellas County.
The Co-Chairs of the ceremony include both of Florida’s U.S. Senators along with former Governor and Senator Bob Graham, Secretary of HRS George Sheldon and other state and community leaders. The keynote speaker is Asst. Secretary for Children and Families of the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services, Carmen R. Nazario.
“We want to provide policy makers in Tallahassee with a glimpse of the innovation that is taking place in neighborhoods and communities statewide, so hopefully they can replicate these innovative ideas in other communities across Florida.†said Ted Granger, President of United Way of Florida
The Luncheon will provide the opportunity for those in attendance to network with hundreds of policy makers, elected officials, statewide advocates and community leaders. Luncheon tickets are $25 each. A limited number of tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Please visit www.thechildrensforum.com/registration to purchase your ticket today.

I’m Karyn, the music specialist, and this is the CFS music podcast. Since music is one of those things that happens in the moment, it is often difficult for me to display student work the way teachers of other subjects can. This is where our podcast comes in. I think of this as an online bulletin board in which you can listen to any of the postings in your own time, in the same way that student work on a bulletin board can be enjoyed by whomever, whenever. As I make recordings of student assignments and in-class performances, I will post them here so you can stay updated with what has been happening in the music room. Also, as with any form of recording, it is important to abide by copyright laws. What you will find posted here on our podcast are examples of original student compositions as well as performances of music from the public domain. Enjoy!
