A maverick scientist is convinced that a major volcanic eruption is only days away from destroying the city. Despite his certainty he struggles to convince his skeptical colleagues and ambitious wife to raise the alarm.
Eruption: The Countdown Begins
Dante and his girlifrend Micky run a very profitable drug operation in a seaside town, aided and abetted by a host of teens who sell the smack at discos around town, as well as by Lucas, a corrupt cop who's on the take. Their downfall comes when they suspect one of the boys, Pep, of ripping them off, and his accidental death causes disloyalty among the teens, who suspect Dante offed them. All of this is perfect for the return of Gabriel, a one-time partner of Dante, who has just been released from jail, and has an almost angelic demeanor and the certainty that he can fix everyone's lives.

“For Christians, death is the gateway to Paradise. For unbelievers, death is the pathway to Hell.” This opening statement from Dr. Taylor’s series Life After Death reminds us of the reality and certainty of death and the fact that we will one day face judgment. In this series you will be challenged in your thinking and will grow in greater understanding of what happens when you die.

The Metamorphoses of Ovid is probably one of the best known, certainly one of the most influential works of the Ancient world. It consists of a narrative poem in fifteen books that describes the creation and history of the world through mythological tales, starting with a cosmogony and finishing with the deification of Julius Caesar. Published around 8 AD, the Metamorphoses are a source, sometimes the only source, for many of the most famous ancient myths, such as the stories of Daedalus and Icarus, Arachne or Narcisus. Ovid works his way through his subject matter often in an apparently arbitrary fashion; however, the connection between all the seemingly unconnected stories is that all of them talk about transformation. Change as the only permanent aspect of nature is the certainty that underlies the work of Ovid, who jumps from one transformation tale to another, sometimes retelling what had come to be seen as central events in the world of Greek myths and sometimes straying in odd directions. The poem is often called a mock-epic. It is written in dactylic hexameter, the form of the great heroic and nationalistic epic poems, both those of the ancient tradition (the Iliad and Odyssey) and of Ovid's own day (the Aeneid). It begins with the ritual "invocation of the muse," and makes use of traditional epithets and circumlocutions. But instead of following and extolling the deeds of a human hero, it leaps from story to story sometimes in very cunning ways, and, because of the clever ways in which it connects the stories, the Metamorphoses were once called the "Thousand and One Nights of the Ancient World". In this podiobook: Drug companies continue to come out with powerful new medicines. Some produce wondrous responses while others have unforeseen side effects. A new antidepressant, rushed through FDA approval, may be causing its users to see themselves die, while at the same time allowing them to live to tell the tale. Join Paul, a physician, and Pablo, a priest, as they work together to make sense of the bizarre reports they are receiving. The two try to understand not only what the Innerglow Effect is, but what it means. If what they are hearing is to be believed, the enormous implications will change the lives of every man, woman, and child. Reincarnation and virtual immortality are just a beginnings of the implications they have to sort though. Read how they try and help those seeking consolation while dealing themselves with the terrible burden they would have to bare if an afterlife was a certainty. How would you react? Could you handle the Innerglow Effect? Find out by reading this riveting story of imagination and hope, written by this rising star of American fiction.

From Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter John Patrick Shanley and with an incredible cast of Hollywood heavyweights including Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams, DOUBT is a gripping story about the quest for truth, the forces of change, and the devastating consequences of blind justice in an age defined by moral conviction.
It's 1964, St. Nicholas in the Bronx. A vibrant, charismatic priest, Father Flynn (Academy Award-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman), is trying to upend the school's strict customs, which have long been fiercely guarded by Sister Aloysius Beauvier (Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep), the iron-gloved Principal who believes in the power of fear and discipline. The winds of political change are sweeping through the community, and indeed, the school has just accepted its first black student, Donald Miller. But when Sister James (Academy Award-nominee Amy Adams), a hopeful innocent, shares with Sister Aloysius her guilt-inducing suspicion that Father Flynn is paying too much personal attention to Donald, Sister Aloysius sets off on a personal crusade to unearth the truth and to expunge Flynn from the school. Now, without a shard of proof besides her moral certainty, Sister Aloysius locks into a battle of wills with Father Flynn which threatens to tear apart the community with irrevocable consequences.
Miramax Films' DOUBT is released in the UK on 6 February 2009.
DOUBT: Official UK Podcast
If you've been drawn to this radio show, it is very likely that you've heard some of the following:
• Your thoughts create your reality
• There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have
• All you need to do is "ask, believe and receive"
If you are like most of my clients, you have bookshelves full of books on "personal development", the "power of your mind", and "creating your ideal life."
And you've been doing your best to apply what you've been told.
However, despite your depth of knowledge and desire to experience the power of these truths, your results have been unpredictable - or possibly even disheartening.
You feel in your heart that what you've learned about "conscious creation" is right, but there seems to be a significant gap between what you "know" in your head and what you manifest in the "real world."
Perhaps your faith is wavering. Maybe you even feel despair at times that the "answer" you thought you'd found might not be the solution after all.
If this has been your experience, I'm truly glad that you are reading this message.
Although I'm not happy to hear that you have been frustrated and confused, I am happy because I know that you are now in the right place -- and I have something very special to share with you.
First, let me reassure you: The law of attraction works. Predictably and consistently - for every person in every situation.
You might well feel skeptical about that. I felt much the same way when I was first introduced to the idea of "Deliberate Creation." But now I have absolute certainty - and I want to share this with you.
