Piracy embodies the romance of the sea at its highest expression. It is
a sad but inevitable commentary on our civilization, that, so far as the

credited with doing more both directly and indirectly for the abolition
of crime and disorder on the high seas than any other force. But the
conquest was not complete till the advent of steam which chased the
sea-rover into the farthest corners of his domain. It is said that he
survives even today in certain spots in the Chinese waters,--but he is
certainly an innocuous relic. A pirate of any sort would be as great a
curiosity today if he could be caught and exhibited as a fabulous

Dr Elaina George is Board certified Otolaryngologist who started Peachtree ENT Center with a mission to practice state of the art medicine that is available to everyone. She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Biology. She received her Masters degree in Medical Microbiology at Long Island University, and received her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr George completed her residency at Manhattan, Eye Ear & Throat Hospital. Her training included general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, pediatric ENT at The NY-Presbyterian Hospital, and head and neck oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She has published in several scientific journals and presented her research at national meetings.

Dr George specializes in minimally invasive ENT surgery for snoring, sleep apnea and sinus disease in both adults and children. Her philosophy is to treat the root cause of a disease to prevent or eradicate it instead of masking symptoms with medications that generally only manage the symptoms. Towards that end her practice ranges from sublingual treatment for environmental and food allergy to the incorporation of scientifically proven natural therapies and products to provide an integrative approach to medicine. She has found that an emphasis on wellness and prevention can improve patient care safely and effectively. The medical trend has been to prescribe more medicine, but despite this people have continued to become sicker. Dr George believes that an integrative approach in some cases can improve patient care and lead to a healthier life without the use of prolonged prescription medication and/or surgery.

Dr George is affiliated with Piedmont Hospital and Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
