The capitals biggest station at the time, Fantasy was partly responsible for the imminent explosion of House within the UK and threw regular events at the legendary Astoria, where Spice soon found himself resident. Rinsing the tunes of the early 90s to 2,000 people every Saturday night, the early life signs of Drum and Bass began to creep into his sets. Since the very beginning, Spice's contribution to the music industry spanned far beyond the performance arena. Finding employment in distribution initially for Pacific and then SRD in the late 80s, Spice took the step up to A&R a few years later and joined forces with Soapbar Records and Total Music Records, whom for the latter he ran record shop Total Music in Bethnal Green. Label artists included Moby, Judge Jules, T Power and plenty more of the dance music scenes movers and shakers, earning Spice valuable industry experience from the years of 1991-5. Climbing up the next rung of the career ladder into the production arena, he released on Hardcore Vinyl, Brand New 49T2, DKB, Soapbar Records and rolled out remixes for the mighty Suburban Base and Black Market International throughout this period.Throughout the first half of his career, Spice repped for a vast number of promoters including Telepathy, Vision, BCM, VIVID, Labyrinth, Breakfast Club, Enigma, Heaven On Earth, Biology, Soundshaft and many, many more.In the years following the turn of the millennium, Spice's stature as a DJ grew from strength to strength, hooking up with legendary pirate Kool FM for a regular show he holds to this day. A four minute weekly radio comic strip. ...It's what Steve Inskeep and Renee Montagne might be hotly debating as they walk into the studio -- just before they get on mic.
This short radiostrip plays out in the kitchen of 11 Central Ave, the home of an extended family where a hodgepodge of other characters regularly drops in.As they rush around in the morning drinking coffee, reading the paper, looking for their shoes, they're talking about everything from the most compelling topics of our time (the Supreme Court nominee and his views on abortion) to the most ridiculous (mommy blogging), and everything in between -- covenant marriage, teens hooking up, the next pandemic, the fog of internet dating.
It's a wry look at America's zeitgeist. Come hear something new "11 Central Ave" - the radio comic strip. Show airs on public radio WBEZ in Chicago, and WBUR in Boston

Cosmic Boogie is now a record label in its own right, a DJ / production alias for Stu Robinson, a and a banner to learn and understand all the different shapes of disco, funk, soul, electro and boogie, be they old or new. We’re all about gay issues - whether it’s hooking up or coming out, we’re not afraid to talk about it. The idea for this show came about on a Friday night (well, Saturday morning really) on our way home from the club. As we were driving we began talking about our experiences with dating and we knew we were onto something good. We had to get our experiences out there for others to hear and comment on. Real talk about gay issues from real gay guys like us. We don’t claim to know everything, but we can share our experiences and hopefully hear from you, too.
