Ezra Taft Benson once asked: "Are we reading the Constitution and pondering it? Are we aware of its principles? Are we abiding by these principles and teaching them to others? Could we defend the Constitution? Can we recognize when a law is constitutionally unsound? Do we know what the prophets have said about the Constitution and the threats to it?"
As Latter-day Saints we should understand our responsibility to uphold and preserve freedom and also understand the warning given to us in Ether Chapter 8 of the Book of Mormon, that we should awake to a sense of our awful situation.
The Purpose of the Gospel of Liberty Podcast is to present messages to you that will expand your understanding of the principles the American Founding Fathers understood - the principles behind the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. These messages will be presented from a Latter-day Saint perspective, often from the mouths of the prophets and based on the principles and doctrines of the LDS Scriptures, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.
