It means that we want to help you to see how you can turn 'dead time' (time spent commuting, exercising, doing chores, etc.) into 'learning time.'

The Samuel Proctor Oral History Program at the University of Florida collects, preserves, and promotes the oral histories that shape the economic, social, political, religious, intellectual, and environmental experiences of our lives for the benefit and critical analysis of future generations.
Oral history is an invaluable method of gathering and preserving the past and present through interviews with participants. Spoken memories constitute both the oldest type of historical inquiry, predating the written word, and, with the advent of the tape recorder in the 1940s, one of the most modern methods.
Current podcasts will focus on our extensive digital library and concentrate on the following subjects: Academic History, Black History, Civil Rights, Labor, Water and the Environment, Women's History, and World War II.
