Anna and Mike portray two characters in a film set in 19th century England who fall in love despite the fact that Mike's character is engaged. After a short, passionate affair, Anna's melancholy character leaves Mike. During the shooting of the film, the two actors go through a relationship that runs parallel to that of their characters, in this slick written movie that features top acting performances by Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons.
