Poul Henningsen dengang og nu - lysmageren i nyt lys. Kulturkritikeren og multikunstneren Poul Henningsen figurerer
stadig livligt i debatten, men ofte som skræmmebillede på en udefineret
’kulturradikalisme’. Han er en mand alle har meninger om,
tit på tredje hånd, hans ideer er delvis skjult af fordomme og uvidenhed,
men der er også reel uenighed om ham. Dette seminar vil
diskutere åbent og kritisk hvad han står for, og hvilken indflydelse
han har haft på dansk livsform og bevidsthed.
Seminaret vil over 12 torsdage bringe fagfolk i debat med hinanden
og med publikum for at afklare PH’s indsats og betydning. De
indkaldte kendere kommer fra historie, kunst-, teater-, arkitekturog
designhistorie, litteratur-, sprog-, film- og medievidenskab,
kvindeforskning, jura, teologi, medicin samt fra medierne og det
politiske liv. De enkelte torsdage vil behandle PH’s idéhistoriske
placering, PH som kritiker og lyriker, hans forhold til lys, arkitektur,
byplanlægning og naturfredning, til revy og jazz, slaget om
Danmarksfilmen 1935, hans kultur-, radio-, tv-kritik, hans forhold
til retsopgør og flygtningedebat 1945-47, til seksualitet, kropskultur
og kvindesag, til arbejderbevægelse, kommunisme og konservatisme,
til reklame og forbrugerkritik. Ved tre arrangementer er
indlagt sang og musik fra PH’s repertoire, og vi slutter med en paneldiskussion
om PH, folkelighed, frisind og arven fra ham, med
repræsentanter for flere kulturpolitiske positioner.
I lighed med de tidligere forelæsningsrækker Den kulturradikale
udfordring (2000) og Det stadig moderne gennembrud (2002) er
seminaret lagt som gå-hjem-arrangementer på et tidspunkt og på
en central adresse der skulle være bekvem for mange. Der er fri

Here is unique series of new recordings of Djuna Barnes' short stories and poems. This American writer played an important part in the development of 20th Century English language modernist writing, She was a key figures in 1920-30s bohemian Paris after filling a similar role in the Greenwich Village of the teens. Her novel Nightwood, with its introduction by T. S. Eliot, is a cult work of modern fiction. She stands out today for her distinctive writing style and her portrayals of lesbian themes. Since Barnes's death, interest in her work has grown and many of her books are back in print.
Djuna Barnes - Selected Works
John Burroughs (1837-1921) was an immensely popular writer during his lifetime. He traveled with John Muir and Teddy Roosevelt; he spent various afternoons with Thomas Edison and Walt Whitman. He was Whitman's first biographer. One might say he had, for many years, his pen on the pulse of the times. Now the times are different and Burroughs is forgotten. Still, with relaxed patience, one can experience his works as they breathe the fresh simplicities of life, especially his intimate milieu: the great outdoors, the flora and fauna, rocks, water, the air and sky —and man's place in the midst of it all.
His poetry can be grouped with his minor writings; he had clear insight into his own facility in poems, to wit, the title page of BIRD AND BOUGH, his sole volume of verse, sports a self-deprecating epigraph from a line by John Bunyan: "Some said, John, print it; others said, Not so." All of his published poetry can be found in this collection, with the exception of "My Own Should Come To Me" and "Waiting." The later, frequently anthologized, was his most well known, and liked, even today. — A PDF of the poem texts can be found as one of the episodes.

About David Onek:
David Onek is the Founding Executive Director of the Berkeley Center for Criminal Justice at Berkeley Law School, and serves as a Commissioner on the San Francisco Police Commission.
Onek leads the Berkeley Center for Criminal Justice’s efforts to bring law enforcement and community together to build partnerships in support of innovative, research-based criminal and juvenile justice policy approaches. Along with his fellow Police Commissioners, Onek sets policy for the Police Department, oversees the Chief of Police and the Director of the Office of Citizen Complaints, and conducts disciplinary hearings on charges of police misconduct.
Onek was appointed by Mayor Gavin Newsom to a four-year term on the Police Commission in 2008. Previously, Onek served as Deputy Director of the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice in San Francisco, where he led numerous criminal justice policy initiatives for Mayor Newsom. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Program Associate at the W. Haywood Burns Institute, where he worked to reduce racial disparities in the juvenile justice system in ten sites throughout the country. Following graduation from law school, Onek received a Skadden Fellowship to work as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services for Children in San Francisco. Before attending law school, Onek was a Research Associate at the National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD), where he researched and developed model juvenile justice programs and systems nationwide. Onek is the author of numerous juvenile and criminal justice book chapters, articles and reports. He is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Brown University. Onek lives in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood with wife Kara Dukakis and daughters Olivia and Nora.

Utilizing the dialogic circle method of group dialogue pioneered by educational theorist Paulo Freire, the TLCI 606 class conducted two discussion sessions.
The results were recorded and are available for download below. The first session is divided into WKMW parts 1 and 2. The second session is downloadable in its entirety as WKMW part 3.
